Munnar travel attractions - Places to see in Munnar

Madupetty Dam

Madupetty Dam has 1700 meters above sea level, which can be found 12km away from Munnar on your way to Top Station. The place is surrounded with trees and plants plus the Indo-Swiss Project, which gives beautiful scenery to every visitor of the place. You can see along the Eucalyptus tree, elephants that have the freedom roaming around the tree. The lake has 8 kms wide and people can do boating over the place as permitted by the District Tourism Promotion Council of Indukki District. You can sail using a speedboat, rover boat or slow boat. The Mandupetty Lake is famous because of its one of a kind view and suitable for picnic activities.

Echo Point

Aside from the broad forest and lake, you can check on the echo point, which is situated in between these areas. You can reach each point on your way to Top Station when you are headed from Munnar. Echo point derives from the beauty it gives out from the natural echo phenomenon. People are savoring the fantastic view and experience especially voice echoing within the reservoir. Gundala Lake

When traveling to Top Station 22 km away from Munnar, you can see the Gundala Lake, which is 1700 meter above sea level along the unexploited forest. Top Station

Marayoor

Just within the border of Munnar, Marayoor can be found. It is only 42 km from Munnar upon going to Chinnar. This place is rich with tribal traits and sandalwood forests. Before reaching Marayoor, you can meet several plantations like cardamom plantation, coffee and orange grove plantation. One of the highest qualities produced on sandalwood is available here. Sandalwood covers for several kilometers in area while Sandalwood is processed at Sandalwood Depot. Within the forest, you can enjoy the Children's Park as well as Deer Park. Greater percentage of Sandalwood and bamboo covered the Marayoor forest. If you are also into cave exploration, you can check the Muniyara Cave. It is called to be the shelter of ancient tribal, which is only 1km away from Marayoor when going to Kanthalloor. The caves composed of large rocky pieces and stone blocks. Luckom falls

Valara Falls

When speaking of fantastic waterfalls, you just go 42km ahead of Munnar and search for Valara Falls, which is situated in between of Adimaly and Kothamangalam. Chinnakkanal falls

If you are looking for a perfect place for a picnic, the Chinnakanal waterfalls surroundings are the answer. It is situated at 16Km away from Munnar along the way to Munnar-Madurai National Highway. An exciting down fall from the height of about 800 m. ill from a height of about 800 m. The place is very clean and the water is very clear. You will definitely enjoy the chilly water from a peak in the middle of the tea field. This is very healthy with the western mountain ranges beautiful views. Panniar Dam

On your way to Thekkady, you can pass along Munnar which is 25km far from Paniar dam. It is a different type of dam for it leaves a beautiful memory to all visitors. That's the result of having the reservoir and the other beautiful things around the place a very nice landscape.
